Fakkihu Sulaiman Lebbai Wali

Fakkihu Sulaiman Lebbai Wali: (1162 – 1214 A.H / 1747 – 1802 A.D)
Fakkihu Sulaiman Lebbai Alim was born on 1162 A.H. He was an Alim, Hafil and a Saint. His father name was Abdul Kareem Wali. Fakkihu Sulaiman Lebbai Wali was a student and a disciple of Sheikh Muhammad Nusky alias Pal Appa. Umar Waliyullah was his close friend and a classmate. Sulaiman Lebbai Waliyullah was introduced to Qutb Sayyid Muhammad Buhary Thangal by Umar Waliyullah. Sayyid Muhammad Buhary Thangal appreciated Fakkihu sulaiman Lebbai Wali and explained about his special qualities to Umar Waliyullah. Sulaiman Lebbai was a great scholar and saint. He spread Qadiriya Tarika. He did business in Ceylon and his business headquarter was at Hammantota. His son Shaikna Lebbai also did business at Hammantota and died there. Sulaiman Lebbai Wali lived at Ambalamaraikar Street next to Periya Jumma Palli. The present Plaiyam house was his residence. He died on 1214 A.H. and was buried in a small graveyard of Periya Jumma Palli opposite to his residence.
